Birth Certificate:
You can obtain your kid's birth certificate from your local county office after 6 weeks from date of birth or From the state bureau of vital statistics.

American Passport:
You can apply for your kid's passport in your local post office. To apply for the Passport you need kid's birth certificate.

Indian Visa/PIO Card:
People of Indian origin (PIO) Card is the recommended one to apply for US born kid. To apply you need a birth certificate. You can apply in any of these Indian Consulates

Traveling to India

Kids under 12 months old:
While booking tickets, you can request for bassinet for your kid. As there will be few bassinets, book your ticket early.

Stroller:
Take Stroller, especially, when you have young kids. Stroller will be very convinent for you and your kid during the travel.

Food:
You can carry any canned or packed food. It's recommended not to carry fruits as there might be some restrictions and fines during port of entry etc.

Vaccination:
It's recommended to get a TB vaccination in India. Check with your pediatrician in India. If your kid stays for a longer time, your kid can get vaccination's in India and bring the proof of vaccination from your Indian doctor.
